Holidays, shopping and travel pressure.

What the flag means

  • Retail restrictions do not mean every restaurant, pharmacy or attraction closes.
  • Public holidays can change museum hours and increase domestic travel demand.
  • Always check the exact attraction or shop after this calendar screen.

Trip calendar scan

Your dates include a statutory holiday—plan shopping and major bookings around it.

Do essential shopping by Fri 14 Aug, before the first closure flag.

Built around the real decision

What this tool helps you answer

  • Get a direct answer for every Sunday inside a trip rather than scan a full-year list.
  • Separate retail restrictions from museum, restaurant, pharmacy and transport rules.
  • Spot holiday-adjacent dates when domestic travel demand may be unusually high.
  • Know which earlier trip day is safer for essential shopping.

Read the result correctly

Decision support, not a booking quote

A restricted Sunday is a retail flag, not a city-wide closure. A statutory holiday is broader, but individual attractions still publish their own hours. Our guide to Poland's public holidays explains what each date actually closes; use the daily detail here to decide what must be checked next.

Limits to keep in view

  • The checker is intentionally limited to the verified 2026 calendar, so use the best time to visit Poland for seasonal planning beyond it.
  • Owner-operated shops and other statutory exemptions can open on restricted Sundays, and shopping in Warsaw covers which capital districts stay useful on a closed Sunday.
  • Local transport changes, museum closures and religious observances vary by city.

How it works

Visible assumptions, useful estimate

  1. 1The checker uses the published 2026 statutory-holiday and trading-Sunday calendars.
  2. 2Every day in the selected range is classified without assuming that all attractions follow shop rules.
  3. 3The result distinguishes shopping restrictions from the separate opening policies of museums, restaurants and small exempt businesses.

Questions before you use the result

Frequently asked questions

Is everything closed on a non-trading Sunday?+

No. The restriction targets many retail shops. Restaurants, pharmacies, petrol stations and various exempt owner-operated shops may open, while attractions follow their own calendars.

Are all Sundays before Christmas trading Sundays?+

No. The checker uses the published exceptions. In 2026 the December trading Sundays are 6, 13 and 20 December.

Does a public holiday mean museums close?+

Not automatically. Holiday opening varies by attraction and city. Treat the flag as a prompt to check the official attraction page.
